Over the past year, national chains, big-box stores, and large online retailers enjoyed massive sales volumes while many smaller, family-owned businesses struggled to keep their doors open. Discover Bradenton is committed to supporting our local businesses and giving them a platform to help them bounce back.
On March 18th, we launched a county-wide #SupportLocal campaign focused on educating the public about the major impact they can make by choosing to keep their money in our community. We’ve also created a number of opportunities for our members to amplify their message and attract local customers. Here’s what you’ll see from us over the coming months.
#SupportLocal Pledge
Every dollar we spend makes a difference! In fact, studies show that for every $100 spent at a local business, $68 of it stays within the community! We’re asking Manatee County residents to #JoinTheMovement by taking a pledge to support local.
When they do, they’ll receive a digital copy of “Where the Locals Go” – our exclusive book of deals and discounts offered by our members. Our goal is to circulate this to tens of thousands of local residents over the next 6 months. Every paid Discover Bradenton member is eligible to participate in the guide at no cost.
Social Media Campaigns
Our ongoing digital marketing campaigns will focus on educating the public about the importance of supporting local businesses and the impact they can make by doing so. We’re promoting the Discover Bradenton Business Directory as the go-to source to find great local businesses for all their needs. If your business isn’t listed in the directory, you’re missing out!
Every Manatee County business is eligible for a FREE basic listing. Those who opt for a paid monthly membership will receive a detailed listing with links to their social media platforms and website (great for SEO!), an image gallery, access to our events calendar, and more.
Look for the Logo
Over the coming weeks, we’re distributing thousands of Discover Bradenton “Support Local” vehicle decals to area residents. You can expect to see them around town as we continue spreading the word and generating a buzz.
We’ve also created “Discover Bradenton Member” door decals, stickers, and electronic badges for our members to add to their websites. As soon as the distribution is complete, we’ll launch fun “Look for the Logo” campaigns focused on driving traffic to our member businesses. This will include events like scavenger hunts, photo contests, and more.
Promotional Materials
If you struggle with your digital marketing, you’re not alone! This is one of the reasons why we’re launching a private “Member Vault” where you’ll find plenty of “Support Local” marketing materials that you can customize and use to promote your business.
The vault will also include marketing tutorials, “How to” guides, and recommendations for the products and services we personally use to grow our business. All of this is included in your membership price!
A Cost-Effective Investment
DiscoverBradenton.com attracts over 10,700 visitors and receives over 15,600 page views each month. We also organically rank for many of the most popular local search terms. In addition, we currently have over 10,900 Facebook followers and reach an average of 36,500 users each month.
This gives us the ability to help our members get it in front of people who are actively looking for ways to support local businesses.
